Welcome to the Catholic Parish Community of Our Lady of the Pines, Donvale.  I hope you will choose to make our parish your Faith home just as Our Lady of the Pines has become my Faith home since my appointment as Parish Priest in November, 2009. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Let me tell you about our Faith Community. One of the first things you will notice at Our Lady of the Pines is the plain wooden cross which stands in front of the Parish Centre and reminds us that we are united in Christ and dedicated to His service. The vertical bar of the cross represents our relationship with God. The horizontal bar represents our relationship with others. Christ’s message in the gospels is not an abstraction for us; it is personal. It is a way of life, which we strive to live in community through faithfulness, prayerfulness, outreach, forgiveness and unity.
At Our Lady of the Pines liturgies are creative and prayerful. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our belief.
There is a heightened awareness of social justice issues at our parish as evidenced by the vibrant St Vincent de Paul conference and practical links to the Parish of Forhorem in Timor Leste.
Networks of Family Groups connect people to the parish and to their neighbours.
Collaborative leadership is encouraged giving parishioners unlimited opportunities to contribute to our parish family and experience a sense of belonging.
School parents are encouraged to appreciate that they are the first Faith educators of their children and work in close cooperation with the gifted and dedicated educators at our fine parish school.

Parishioners reach out to one another in joy and in sorrow. We pray together. We relax and make merry together. We are family.
